Stampin Up Decor Elements paint can teacher gifts

October 29th, 2010 , No Comments »

I bought the Spooky Things decor elements  from the holiday mini.  These decor elements come with so many different pieces, I had a ton left over.  I saw these great clear paint cans at Micheals.  I adhered one of the decor elements to each of the paint cans.  I then used the Black flourish jewels to give some spooky looking eyes to each of the elements.  These were the perfect size for my homemade caramel corn.  I added a tag using the grateful greetings stamp set and my favorite little ghosty using the owl punch.

The can tops are made using black cardstock and embossed using the sizzix with the spider web embossing folder.  I then used some of the champagne mist shimmer paint on this to add dimension and sparkle.

More grateful greetings, the new designer label punch and my favorite bat punch!

All of the fun little buckets still empty – these really made a great teachers gift!

Have a Happy Halloween!

Stampin Up MDS Bed Chart (chore)

October 28th, 2010 , 1 Comment »

Stampin Up’s My Digital Studio saved the day again!  Our littlest guy just refuses to fall asleep in his bed since we moved.  He will fall asleep at the corner of my desk, the top of the stairs, the couch etc but not his bed.  The worst part is he is so stealth.  I won’t even know he is out of his bed until I go to bed and almost trip over him.  He LOVES new toys, so this is our . . . yes bribe!!

Of course, this tired momma (to many class parties LOL) FORGOT to make a check chart last night for him.  He awoke this morning and asked where to put his check.  Just a sec honey I said.  I madly went to my computer and made this up.  The background and embellishments are from Hoppy Memory which comes with MDS.  The calendar is the November month saved as a .jpg and then added to this page.  Easy, easy, easy!

Don’t forget the MDS design contest going on for a few more weeks for Stampin Up Demonstrators and Customers (5 awards each!)  Best part of My digital Studio . . . it’s relatively cheap at less than $80.  I love how it is very similar to Photoshop (which I paid $500) and comes with tons of DSP paper, cardstock colors, stamps and punches.  The downloads can be purchased online and downloaded immediately so you can finish the project your working on without delay.  Plus I have tons of information sheets & videos for customers who purchase online AND you receive Stampin Bug Rewards

Stampin Up Fall Football using my digital studio

October 27th, 2010 , No Comments »

My littlest one LOVES sports.  Big Brother is playing on the best team ever, and so we are football crazy.  Don’t you love his little letter jacket we found for him!  The colors are so different than I originally planned but I kind of like it!  The little stamped images were done in white (although grey would have been better) then opacity was turned way down!  Don’t you love how the pictures look like the two side ones are popping out towards you.  I made the center one jsut a little smaller and then added drop shadows to the two side ones.  Totally an optical illusion, but I know when I get this one printed people will be feeling it!!

Stampin Up MDS scrapbook Morgan’s cakes

October 19th, 2010 , 1 Comment »

I just had to make this page for my sweet daughter.  She blows me away with her mix of creativity and engineering ability!  Morgan is 8 now but since she was about 5 she has been making the craziest things out of paper.   She made the tall white cake about a year ago and topped it off with little colored cupcakes.  Last night she made the paper cake on the right.  She has graduated from white paper and tape to colored paper, glue and a stapler.  The very top has a purse because our friend she made it for is a shopping fiend!  I even let her stamp and punch.  Can’t wait to see what she makes next.

Even better news ~ the new CHEAPER Stampin Up printing prices go into effect TODAY!  I print my pages indivually instead of in a boo since there is no rhyme or reason to what I create each day.  Best of all just order them by clicking my shopping bug at the top right and get your stampin bug rewards too!

MDS 12×12 Balance Bike extreme elements

October 14th, 2010 , 2 Comments »

Yes another MDS page, why cuz I only have a thousand pictures and really I just want to get them made up and printed into albums AND . . . STAMPIN UP LOWERED their prices for printing!!   Now all of my pages I have been making can be printed, no rush though, the sale prices are PERMANENT!!

As some of you know my little guy has a rare form of dwarfism.  He looks ‘normal’ but is tiny.  I can not tell you how much time I spend trying to find average things made just a little smaller.  Balance bikes are more expensive than regular bikes, but in our case it was worth every penny.  The seat goes really far down, an with nothing on the sides of the bike, my little can FLY!!  He loves his bike and it gives him that feeling of being like ‘the rest of the kids’!

Love the extreme elements stamp set.  it jsut makes the pages so  . . .   BOY!

2010 Almost Artisan Train MDS Hybrid scrapbook page

October 12th, 2010 , 2 Comments »

YEAH!  I finally found the originals for my 2010 Stampin Up Artisan Award entries.  I will be posting some of them and different information over the next couple of weeks.  Since I saw this page on a ton of other people’s blogs after convention, I thought I would start with it.

This is what I call a reverse hybrid.  I used the awesome photo template in Stampin Up’s My Digital Studio.  The 9 square template is already in MDS and makes inserting photos super easy.  I edited half color and half black and white in photoshop BUT I just realized you can do it right in My Digital Studio!!! (just look tie the right column under photos it is near the bottom of that dropdown.  Once I had it like I wanted (I believe I used an 8 1/2 by 11 page on MDS and made the template on that.  It was sized perfectly for the 12×12 finished product.  I also just printed this at home using my inkjet on plain paper as I knew it would mute the colors some and give it that old time look.

Once they were printed out, I went back into MDS and created the exclamation point using the text tool for the top and the stamp set Greatest moments for the circle and text guide.  I printed these out on cardstock.  Also the few of my favorite things was printed on cardstock since I didn’t have this stamp set.

Please let me know if you might have any further questions.

Stampin Up MDS scrapbook Birthday and Outtakes

October 11th, 2010 , No Comments »

That’s right, I am finally getting all of the babies (who is now 4) pictures made up so I can have his album DONE!!  You already know how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Stampin Up’s my digital studio . . . today’s reason is that I can make the scrapbook pages up and then print them later (save to an external harddrive though!)  The feeling of actually getting them done is waht’s awesome!

First off, yes all of the photographs I scrapbook I take.  I did have a dedicated studio in my house for photographing the kids.  This allowed my to capture a TON of photographs of my kiddos when they were little.  Also for the ABC book I could stage photographs for letters I didn’t have.  The best (or worst part) of digital is that I have probably thousands of outtakes, I can’t bear to throw out.  I LOVE the larger picture of my little guys grin and face.  So I decided to make the cascading pictures down the side into outakes.  Don’t you LVOE the bottom one ‘ Hey who’s up there!"  This was a really quick page with a bunch of stamps resized and a little torn edges, and stitching and we are finished!  Now do I not only remember when we took the large print that also hangs on our wall, but all of the fun we had getting to that photograph!

Did I also mention that Stampin Up’s My Digital Studio also comes with awesome designer kits. . . THAT DON"T RETIRE!!  This was from the Happy Bday Designer kit whcih comes with tons of Designer Series paper, embellishments, borders, and stamps.  The large dotted circle is actually on of the stamps which has been enlarged!

12×12 stampin up album pages lg photo background

October 10th, 2010 , 2 Comments »

I was playing with digital scrapbooking again using Stampin Up’s My Digital Studio.  I jsut love all of the options and possibilities.  Plus when I only have a few minutes to play . . . say when my children are trying to find their shoes I can put together a page without the mess!

We have TONS of pictures from our trip to Cape Cod last summer so I figured I better start getting them scrapbooked.  Best of all, pages that include all of kiddos can be printed multiple times and placed in each of their scrapbooks . . . NO MORE hours spent duplicating pages.

Now, I had a fabulous picture of my littlest ones footprint in the sand.   After playing with different background papers, it occured to me that I should use this photograph as the background.  I made a photobox (on the right side) that covered the entire 12×12 sheet.  Then I inserted this photograph and decreased the opacity about 1/2 way.  I then added the 3 additional photo boxes with matching matsand drop shadows.  I did save this laout as I like the placement of the different photographs.  The summer sating is a stamp from the calendar set backed in white of the same stamp.  The top is just text.

Stampin Up MDS 12×12 swimming page

October 8th, 2010 , 1 Comment »

I have had these pictures on my camera since last spring break!! Right before we left for Glenwood Springs, my darling hubby bought me a olympus stylus tough.  The best feature…it takes photos underwater!!  We had so much fun at the hot springs ~ especially while it snowed.  The pool is huge, and had shallow for Brahm who had to wear two floaties! and a diving board for the big kids.

You know how much I love Stampin Up’s My Digital Studio, and their are so many components that each time I try something new I love it even more!  Don’t you love the torn edges around the DSP (it’s from the sweet pea pack.)  It occured to me that I had to color the torn edges the background paper color … one of the different ways of thinking required for MDS versus paper but the results are great.
